Changes and Updates

3/5/07  Added collections that were donated to me:  a list of Mayo Burial Grounds (donor unknown), the 1900 Census Maps for Achill and Newport (Hugh O'Donnell), and 1000 Priests, Reverends, & Rabbis (Donald O'Malley) pulled from Cuyahoga marriage applications.

3/21/06  Published my experimental Calvary Cemetery database with ~ 740 graves from section 20E.  Click on the ID number brings up more info (if available) and a picture of the headstone.  Calvary Section 20E Search Engine

2/21/06 Added a master list of all the townlands in west Mayo with the corresponding map and coordinates.  Also added my Cleveland Irish Music Calendar newsletter to the site.

2/3/06  Added some misc. McLoughlin families I had collected from IGI and William Masterson's Newport collections.

1/20/06  Have you ever tried to determine where a townland is located, especially when you are trying to tie together families that you suspect are near each other?  I've scanned in the Discovery Series Ordinance maps 30 and 31 which include all of Clew Bay from Louisburg to Achill and part of Mayo west to Castlebar and Foxford.  I'm in the process of building an index of townland names and linking them to the map extract.  You can access these map extracts in the Maps section.

Added the County Mayo Gill's, a collection of all the Gills I could locate from various sources, approximately 1250 names and growing.  If you have a Gill ancestor who lived in Mayo between 1700-1920, they may be listed here.  If not, send me their information and I'd be happy to include them.  Also added a Griffith's Valuation map circa 1855 of Sandhill, Knockmanus, Drumfurban, and Roskeen South along with tenants so you can see where the individual families lived.
