Griffith's Valuation
in the
Union of Westport

How to use this page:

Knowing the townland that your ancestors called home is critical for Irish research, not only to separate the repetition of common names but also to locate marriage partners and related families who typically came from the same area or townland.  If you know what townland your ancestors were from, go directly to the Townlands page.  Otherwise, start with the alphabetical Names page and then use that information to find the townland.  If you're not sure what other townlands are nearby, use the Mayo Maps to learn the geography.

Note*  I only included the occupier's name if the description of the tenement included a house.  This was to eliminate duplications caused by people farming (and being taxed on) multiple properties including land, office (outbuildings), gardens, etc.
